Ingredients
- 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ¾ cup (180 ml) plain yogurt
- ½ cup (120 ml) warm water (adjust as needed)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or vegetable oil
Instructions
- Mix the dry ingredients
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
- Make the dough
- Add yogurt and oil.
- Gradually pour in the warm water while mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead
- Knead for 2–3 minutes until smooth.
- Cover and let rest for 5 minutes.
- Shape
- Divide the dough into 8 equal portions.
- Roll each piece into a small round disc about ¼ inch (6 mm) thick.
- Cook
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Cook each bread for 2–3 minutes per side until puffed and golden brown.
- Serve
- Brush with melted butter if desired.
- Serve warm with honey, jam, cheese, soups, or dips.
Tips
- Add garlic powder, herbs, or cheese to the dough for extra flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- Reheat briefly in a skillet or microwave before serving.
