Quick 10-Minute Skillet Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ¾ cup (180 ml) plain yogurt
  • ½ cup (120 ml) warm water (adjust as needed)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients
    • In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  2. Make the dough
    • Add yogurt and oil.
    • Gradually pour in the warm water while mixing until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead
    • Knead for 2–3 minutes until smooth.
    • Cover and let rest for 5 minutes.
  4. Shape
    • Divide the dough into 8 equal portions.
    • Roll each piece into a small round disc about ¼ inch (6 mm) thick.
  5. Cook
    • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
    • Cook each bread for 2–3 minutes per side until puffed and golden brown.
  6. Serve
    • Brush with melted butter if desired.
    • Serve warm with honey, jam, cheese, soups, or dips.

Tips

  • Add garlic powder, herbs, or cheese to the dough for extra flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat briefly in a skillet or microwave before serving.
